Dr Wium Erasmus
Dr Wium Erasmus started off his medical career as a general practitioner with a special interest in children with ADHD and developmental problems. He then went on to complete his specialist psychiatric training at the University of the Witwatersrand Johannesburg and was the first recipient of the SASOP, Southern Gauteng subgroup, Bernard Janse van Rensburg research award. He currently works in private practice in both inpatient and outpatient settings with a special interest in adolescent and adult ADHD, Autism, Mood and Trauma disorders. He has a passion for teaching and educating and is a regular speaker on multiple psychiatric topics. He is blessed with a wonderful wife and two beautiful girls and is an avid ultramarathon trail runner.

ADHD: The Giggly Girls vs. the Boisterous Boys
Prof Susan Young
Professor Susan Young is an internationally recognised clinical psychologist and clinical neuropsychologist who has helped shape the understanding, assessment and treatment of ADHD and other neurodevelopmental conditions over more than 30 years. Her work spans clinical practice, research, national and international guideline development, professional training and public policy, with a particular focus on translating evidence into practical improvements in care. She contributed to the development and implementation of the NICE ADHD clinical guidelines, and has played a leading role in international expert consensus and clinical guidance on ADHD assessment and treatment. She has also advised government, healthcare and professional bodies in the UK and internationally on neurodevelopmental practice, service development and policy. Professor Young is the author of widely used clinical assessment tools, including the ADHD Child Evaluation (ACEv.2), the ADHD Adult Evaluation (ACE+v.2) and the Diagnostic Autism Spectrum Interview (DASI-2), as well as evidence-based psychological treatment programmes for children, adolescents and adults. Her assessment and intervention resources have been translated into more than 30 languages and are used internationally across clinical, educational and forensic settings. She is Director of Psychology Services Ltd and Honorary Professor at Reykjavik University, and previously held senior academic and clinical posts at Imperial College London, King’s College London and specialist NHS services. She has authored more than 300 academic and professional publications and is a frequent international keynote speaker, trainer and media commentator.

The ADHD Brain: Key Neurotransmitters at Work
Dr Frans Korb
Dr Frans August Korb is a specialist psychiatrist and received the following university qualifications: B.Sc. (Hons) (UFS), M.A. Clinical Psychology (Wits), M.B. Ch.B. (UCT), M.Med. Psychiatry (Wits). He has a particular interest in adult mood and anxiety disorders, as well as adult ADHD. He is currently in full-time private practice in Sandton and also consults for Life Healthcare Nkanyisa at both Baneng Care Centre and Waverley Care Centre. Since 2007, Dr Korb has been an invited annual lecturer in psychopharmacology at the Department of Psychology at the University of Johannesburg. He served as an examiner for the CMSA FCPsych Part I examinations from 2002 to 2021. Dr Korb has been actively involved with the South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) since its inception in 1994, serving on the board and previously as board chairman. He has extensive experience in clinical research, having participated in numerous clinical trials for various pharmaceutical companies. His industry experience includes roles as a medical advisor for CNS and anti-inflammatories at Pfizer Laboratories (1999–2000) and Eli Lilly and Company (2000–2009). He also served as a global medical advisor based at the Lilly Area Medical Centre in Vienna and School of Clinical Research, Austria. Over the years, Dr Korb has contributed to several professional organizations, including the Associated Scientific and Technical Societies of South Africa (AS&TS), the Southern African Association for the Advancement of Science (S2A3), the South African Society of Psychiatrists (SASOP), Founder Member of PsychMG, and the South African Medical Association (SAMA). He currently serves as editor of Mental Health Matters, a journal for general practitioners, and sits on the editorial board of Neuron SA. He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and the mainstream press and is a regular contributor to radio and television discussions on mental health topics. In recognition of his contributions, Dr Korb was awarded Certificates of Merit by the Southern African Association for the Advancement of Science in 1989 and 1992.

Moving towards a precision person centred approach to ADHD: Integrating the science of ADHD with evidence-based intervention strategies
Dr Punyuzwa Titi
Dr Punyuzwa Titi is a registered Educational Psychologist in the Eastern Cape Department of Education, currently based at Tembisa Special School in Mthatha. She holds a Doctorate in Community Psychology from the University of Zululand and is a qualified teacher and Educational Psychologist with extensive experience across educational, clinical, and research contexts. After serving as an educator for ten years, she joined the South African Police Service (SAPS) in 2002, where she progressed from Psychometrist (Independent Practice) to Chief Psychologist, and later contributed as a Psychology tutor, Behavioural Studies lecturer, and academic supervisor, all the while serving as a sessional psychologist. Her academic contributions include serving as a visiting researcher at the University of Zululand in 2014, publishing three research projects, and presenting papers at national conferences. Dr. Titi has further advanced the field of psychological assessment in South Africa through her participation in the translation of the Xhosa Rey Auditory Verbal Learning Test (RAVLT) and in the WISC-V research project, which addresses the urgent need for culturally and linguistically valid psychometric tools for South African children. She is an Associate Member of the South African Clinical Neuropsychological Association (SACNA), with a special interest in neuropsychology.
